Summary:
The Server responsible for creating a fun and memorable customer experience for all those that visit any of the Chiles Hospitality venues, by providing prompt, efficient and friendly service as outlined in the performance service standards.
Exhibits excellent knowledge about the restaurant, its sections, table numbers and all beverage and food offerings.
Enthusiastically makes recommendations and up-sells beverages and food items for the enjoyment of the customers and to drive revenue in the operation.
Ensures that all work is performed in a timely, efficient, safe, and courteous manner according to the company policies and procedures while following budgetary guidelines.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Exhibits a professional and friendly demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees, management, and customers.
Capable of working as part of a cohesive team and maintaining a positive, proactive attitude.
Ensures that the customer experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service, pace, and quality of beverage and food items by adhering to the performance service standards/steps of service.
Consistently comes to work neatly groomed, in full uniform with a visible nametag.
Maintains an approachable demeanor throughout shift.
Adheres to schedule by arriving to work on time and being responsible for working all scheduled shifts.
Attends daily pre-shift huddle and is knowledgeable about drink specials, daily features, soups, and special events.
Exhibits strong beverage, wine, and food knowledge.
Is capable of making recommendations to customers on various offerings and/or describing food and beverage items correctly.
Capable of discussing and recommending wines by the glass or bottle.
Properly presents wine, opens bottles, decants (as necessary) and pours wines and/or champagne.
Also has a strong familiarity with all the Chiles Hospitality restaurant Food & Beverage options, menus, and hours of operation.
ID's all customers that look 30 years of age or younger and monitors the service of alcohol so as to not over serve.
Follows Chiles Hospitality procedures regarding the serving of alcohol for slowing down or cutting off a patron, offering alternate transportation if needed, and complying with all legal regulations.
Promptly notifies management of any customer issues regarding the service of alcohol.
Is capable of suggestive selling in a conversational manner and recommending premium drink, wine, and food options to enhance the customer experience and help create a profit driven operation.
Understands how to efficiently use the POS system to accurately account for all food & beverage items by ringing up all orders prior to making or serving any beverages or food items.
Communicates any special requests, dietary restrictions, or allergies to the culinary team correctly in the POS and follows up verbally proper to preparation on any extreme concerns.
Ensures all food orders are correct and that all accompaniments are provided along with each course.
Creates a fun and professional customer experience with each table of guests by behaving in a confident and highly competent manner taking special care to make personal connections in a professional way.
Makes an ongoing effort to learn about beverages, wines, and food trends.
Capable of sharing information with customers to help educate them on the unique offerings Chiles Hospitality has in regard to its sustainable efforts and farm-to-table items.
Serves all beverages to the right side of each customer and clears beverages to the right of each guest to avoid unnecessary reaching.
Uses the point seat system to take beverage and food orders and rings orders into the POS according to seat number.
Is responsible for correctly placing all beverages and courses in front of the correct person without having to ask the customer who ordered what.
In accordance with the performance standards, serves each course from the left side of each guest and clears all plates from the right side of each guest.
Avoids reaching across guests when possible.
Capable of multi-tasking and working at a fast, but thorough pace.
Partners well with other the bussers, other servers, bartenders, and the culinary team to provide a seamless team-oriented service experience.
Takes ownership of assigned section by thoroughly detailing it prior to the start of service, maintaining the cleanliness/organization of the section throughout service and properly cleaning up at the close of service.
Monitors each table throughout service; refills beverages, removes empty glasses, plates and debris in an unobtrusive manner as needed.
Communicates any major customer concerns directly to management as soon as they arise to proactively handle these issues while the guests are still dining so the matter can be resolved for full-service recovery.
Quickly and efficiently settles all guest checks by anticipating the needs of each table and providing this service prior to having to be asked or making the guests wait.
Responsible for the completion of all side-work that is assigned by the manager and seeks out additional responsibilities to help the team function smoothly when assigned work is complete.
Correctly settles all checks and completes end of shift POS closing procedures according to Chiles Hospitality policy.
Declares all tips for tax purposes and drops cash and credit card receipts that correctly reconciles with POS shift report.
Notifies management of any discrepancies.
Helps management maintain par levels for supplies/equipment/linen by notifying them of anything that is running low or broken.
Also assists in conducting monthly inventory, as requested, to ensure resources are readily available, properly stored and secured.
Assists in the ongoing organization and cleaning of all side stations, server prep and storage areas.
Participates fully in Chiles Hospitality's environmental sustainability initiatives to include; no straw/paper straw efforts, using sustainable to go containers, recycling, composting, waste reduction, energy and water conservation.
Pays special attention to separating garbage and recyclable items.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards of operation.
Constantly looks for ways to save time and money when working.
Maintains excellent communication between all the restaurant team members and management.
Practices safe work habits in all types of duties and with all equipment.
Complies with all liquor laws and all health regulations.
Responsible for attending assigned company meetings and training sessions following up on all expectations communicated at such meetings/trainings.
Performs any additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Required Skills/
Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience as a server for a high volume, upscale restaurant.
Knowledge of food, wines, and beverages preferred.
Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work and follow up on details.
Qualifications:
Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and varying shifts based on business demand.
Able and willing to work overtime as business dictates.
Experienced with various point of sale systems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess a valid driver's license or state issued ID card.
Current certification in the state Professional Food Handler Program or willingness to go through food safety and sanitation training, as provided by the company.
Current certification in a nationally recognized program concerning the responsible service of alcohol, or willingness to go through training as provided by the company.
(Within one month of hire.
) Language Skills:
Fluent in English both verbally and in written form.
Ability to read and comprehend general correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information verbally to managers, employees and customers.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to think in abstracts for the purpose of general problem solving.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the person is regularly required to stand.
The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Ability to taste and smell.
Capable of lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
In and outside conditions are required that includes inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and sand.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
